Straight Talk: Making Sense of Medical Bills & Insurance
Kala is a Patient Financial Coordinator with Nebraska Hematology Oncology who helps patients navigate the financial side of their cancer care. She is passionate about educating patients about their insurance benefits and helping them understand the often-confusing world of health insurance, medical bills, and coverage.
She will be discussing health insurance and medical billing, including understanding your benefits, navigating insurance denials and appeals, getting medically necessary treatments approved, and what to do when a claim is denied. Kala will share practical information to help breast cancer patients and survivors feel more confident understanding their coverage and advocating for the care they need.

Kala will answer your questions in real time and provide helpful guidance for navigating insurance challenges, medical bills, denied claims, and unexpected healthcare costs.
