PROJECT PINK'D ANNOUNCES HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP FOR EXPOSED: IT'S PERSONAL 2026

Methodist Health System, Nebraska Cancer Specialists, and Nebraska Medicine Unite as Presenting Sponsors in Unprecedented Show of Support for Breast Cancer Survivors

OMAHA, Neb. — Project Pink'd is proud to announce a first-of-its-kind partnership for its signature fundraising event, EXPOSED: It's Personal. For the first time in the organization's history, three leading healthcare organizations—Methodist Health System, Nebraska Cancer Specialists, and Nebraska Medicine—have joined together as Presenting Sponsors of the 2026 event.

The collaboration represents a shared commitment to supporting breast cancer survivors throughout Nebraska and Western Iowa and reflects a powerful message: while survivors may receive care in different places, they deserve a community that comes together to support them beyond treatment.

"This partnership is truly one of a kind," said Shawn Garza, Executive Director of Project Pink'd. "These organizations care for thousands of breast cancer patients across our region every year. To see them come together, not as competitors, but as partners united around survivorship, sends an incredibly powerful message to the survivors and families we serve."

EXPOSED: It's Personal, presented by Methodist Health System, Nebraska Cancer Specialists, and Nebraska Medicine, will take place Friday, August 7, 2026, at Embassy Suites La Vista. The annual event serves as Project Pink'd's largest fundraiser and celebration of survivorship, bringing together more than 1,100 attendees in support of local breast cancer survivors.

Funds raised through EXPOSED directly support Project Pink'd's mission of providing tools, resources, and a strong network to strengthen and renew the mind, body, and spirit of breast cancer survivors from the moment of diagnosis through end of life. Programs include financial assistance through Helping Hand grants, Healing Hearts care kits, survivorship programming, educational events, and peer support opportunities.

This year's theme, Viva La Vida: Life in Full Color, celebrates resilience, joy, and the courage to embrace life fully after a breast cancer diagnosis.

The presenting sponsors shared their reasons for supporting Project Pink'd and its mission:

"Project Pink'd has helped my patients through difficult times, with their financial and spiritual help. Their work is invaluable!" said Dr. Margaret Block of Nebraska Cancer Specialists.

"Project Pink'd has provided a loving, supportive, and understanding community to our breast cancer patients throughout their journeys, from when they are in the thick of it, going through treatment, to the survivor and thriver years. Thank you!!!" added Dr. Kirsten Leu of Nebraska Cancer Specialists.

"I don't think I can adequately put into words how amazing it is to see the positive impact that Project Pink'd has had on so many survivors’ lives," said Dr. Lisa Poole, breast surgical oncologist with Methodist Breast Care Center. "Partnering with them has allowed me to witness firsthand the support that survivors—many of them my own patients—receive during some of the most challenging moments of their lives."

"Supporting Project Pink'd is important because it directly aligns with our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered cancer care," said Michaela Newman, Executive Director of Operations for Oncology Services at Nebraska Medicine. "Their work not only raises awareness but also provides meaningful support and resources for individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis, helping ensure no one faces that journey alone."

For Project Pink'd, the partnership symbolizes something much larger than sponsorship.

"When survivors look around the room on August 7, we want them to see what we see," Garza said. "An entire community standing behind them. This partnership shows that regardless of where a survivor receives care, we can all come together to ensure they have the support, resources, and hope they deserve."

Tickets for EXPOSED: It's Personal are on sale now. Additional sponsorship opportunities remain available.
