Project Pink’d continued to meet the ever growing demands of breast cancer survivors requesting financial assistance. Over 300 survivors in 47 counties in Nebraska and Western Iowa were provided with financial assistance through our Helping Hand program.

Our first national grant awarded by the American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation, allowed Project Pink’d to bring healthcare professionals together providing almost 100 survivors with a comprehensive agenda in regard to sexual wellness among breast cancer survivors.

Making the burden a little easier for those going through treatment and in financial need this holiday season, Project Pink’d partnered with Nebraska Medicine, The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker and HyVee to provide over 175 survivors in Bellevue and Lincoln with a Thanksgiving Luncheon complete with a Thanksgiving Meal to take home and share with their families.

770 hours of complimentary Love & Light Yoga sessions were provided to breast cancer survivors in our community. Survivors were introduced to different types of yoga practice and taken on a journey of discovery and healing.

Developed for breast cancer survivors by Project Pink’d survivors, over 800 Healing Hearts Survivor Kits addressing each modality of treatment (Chemotherapy, Radiation, Surgery) were distributed to 33 healthcare facilities in Nebraska and Western Iowa.

Project Pink’d launched our Straight Talk: Ask An Expert program addressing REAL issues breast cancer survivors face after a diagnosis. This four-session, interactive live webcast series explored issues of particular interest to breast cancer survivors and provided LIVE access to professionals.

In an effort to broaden outreach efforts in providing essential services to breast cancer survivors, Project Pink’d partnered with Harper’s Hope and HyVee to expand our Chef’s Table program by 46%, serving over 130 survivors in Lincoln and Omaha. 5 sessions provided survivors with nutrition information and culinary tools to address cancer risks.

1056 survivors received a different kind of prescription-A Jar of Hope. Each jar containing 31 daily affirmations created to brighten the day of local breast cancer survivors.

The reach of our Helping Hand program extended to 47 counties in Nebraska and Western Iowa compared to 26 counties in 2017.

20 survivors completed our 5-month extensive Dare to Thrive Renewal Program, helping them create a thriving and purposeful future after breast cancer. The program leans on bite-size tools, one-on-one support and a strong community network as a catalyst for addressing everyday life issues that survivors experience after treatment.

Our Lymphedema Instructional Workshop addressed the life-long incurable condition due to breast cancer treatment. Over 40 survivors completed a half-day instructional workshop.

Project Pink’d awarded a grant to Nebraska Medicine for their Breast Awareness Reconstruction Event, providing survivors an empowering opportunity to explore breast surgery options in the company specialists and fellow survivors.

Project Pink'd Partner Grants Extends Mission
Project Pink'd Partner Grants expand our reach to serve over 300 survivors through CHI Health, Methodist Hospital and Nebraska Medicine.

Project Pink'd partnered with CHI Health to provide nutritional guidance to breast cancer patients. 150 breast cancer survivors received "Eating Well Through Cancer: Easy Recipes & Tips to Guide you Through Treatment and Cancer Prevention" by Holly Clegg and Gerald Mieltello.

Medicare does NOT cover garments required to manage lymphedema. With assistance from Project Pink'd, Methodist Inner Beauty was able to provide charitable care for 89 Medicare breast cancer patients who are unable to afford their compression garments for the management of lymphedema.
